Also called black crappie or just specks.

Speckled perch are a popular target for Fisherman because they taste good and they get relatively big for a freshwater pan-fish. Some popular ways to fish for Specks also known as Crappie include trolling slowly with several sinking jigs that mimic minnows or just using minnows on a bobber. These fish become most active when the water temperature is in the sixties. They spend a lot of time suspended in open water, but during the spring they get closer to shore and hang out around grass and lily pads.
